What is ServerPing?

GPSLogbook offers a feature called ServerPing. If turned on, this feature allows you to send your current position to a webserver within a self-defined interval.

If you use our FollowMe service (hosted in Germany), a URL for your followers can be sent via e-mail, text message (SMS, iMessage), Twitter, Facebook, or WhatsApp from within GPSLogbook.

To learn more about the FollowMe service, click here.
To learn how to use a self-hosted service, click here.

To keep your current location private and on your device only, just turn off ServerPing (which is by default). Same for saving your mobile data volume, e.g. while roaming abroad.
